With the support of the European Union, the first group of mothers and children from Cantemir district start attending the parental education programme \u201cMellow Parenting\u201d on 1st of March. It will be delivered for 14 weeks and is to be launched in Cimislia, Stefan Voda and Taraclia districts, too.<\/p>\n
The \u201cMellow Parenting\u201d programme is aimed at supporting parents in the development of parental skills at various stages of child development and is based on the principles of attachment, social learning and cognitive behaviour theory. The parental skills consolidation format includes 14 group meetings with parents who have children aged 0 to 5. At these meetings, parents discuss about the interaction between them and their children, learn how to manage their emotions, build smooth relations with their children and determine for themselves the style of education to adopt in their relationship with children, starting with the earliest stage of development.<\/p>\n
The programme is based on scientific evidence and has demonstrated over time significant contributions to reducing depression and anxiety in parents, increasing their self-confidence, decreasing negative behaviour in children, as well as strengthening positive relationships between parents and children.<\/p>\n
The \u201cMellow Parenting\u201d programme was taken over from the UK and has been implemented by NGO \u201cPartnerships for every child\u201d since 2016 in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and the local public authorities from 9 districts.<\/p>\n
The programme is delivered with the financial support of the EU as part of the project \u201cFor a society where girls and boys can thrive and reach their full potential with dignity\u201d in Cantemir, Cimislia, Stefan Voda and Taraclia districts.<\/p>\n
