Participants examined the roles and responsibilities of the actors involved, the organization of supervision sessions, and a range of practical aspects, including different types of supervision, the frequency of sessions, documentation, and reporting.<\/p>\n<p>According to Igor Chi\u0219c\u0103, Head of the Child Rights Protection and Families with Children Policies Directorate at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the social assistance system needs well-trained professionals who receive continuous support and opportunities for professional development. <em>\u201cToday, we are discussing a key instrument for strengthening that support\u2014the supervision mechanism. This document is not merely a procedural guide; it is intended to become a practical tool that supports our frontline colleagues, helps identify their professional support needs, and provides meaningful guidance to specialists. The time has come to strengthen this mechanism so that it effectively responds to the real needs of professionals working in the social sector.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Opening the event, Viorica Dumbr\u0103veanu, UNICEF Child Protection Officer, highlighted the importance of engaging frontline practitioners in developing a supervision mechanism that reflects field realities and builds on the experience accumulated within the system. <em>\u201cUNICEF is committed to strengthening the essential competencies of social service professionals, and supervision is a critical component in ensuring both their professional performance and the quality of services delivered. However, for supervision to generate meaningful change, we must move beyond the concept and ensure its practical implementation. Through this guide, we aim to contribute to the development of a clear, accessible, and user-friendly mechanism, with well-defined roles and concrete steps for conducting the supervision process,\u201d<\/em> Ms. Dumbr\u0103veanu noted.<\/p>\n<p>The recommendations developed during the workshop will contribute to the finalization of the document and to the development of a supervision mechanism that is responsive to the needs of professionals working in the social sector.<\/p>\n<p>The event was organized within the UNICEF project &#8220;Better Care for Children&#8221;, implemented by Partnerships for Every Child, with the financial support of the Government of Sweden, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The applicability of the Supervision Mechanism for Social Services for Families with Children at the national, regional, and local levels was discussed during a working workshop that brought together representatives of the Territorial Social Assistance Agencies , social service managers, child protection specialists, and community social workers.
