Today, January 23, nine schools in Chisinau received educational kits containing teaching materials and stationery, including school supplies, educational games, and sports equipment. Three additional pre-university institutions from Anenii Noi, Orhei, and Soroca also benefited from these kits. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to support communities affected by the refugee crisis in Ukraine and local challenges in the Republic of Moldova.

Daniela Mămăligă, Director of Partnerships for Every Child (P4EC), emphasized at the distribution event that “the purpose of this support is to create a healthy and motivating educational environment where students have the optimal conditions to learn and develop harmoniously.”

In his greeting, Maher Daboul, Project Development Manager for Education at the Norwegian Refugee Council, stated, “Through this initiative, we aim to create an equitable and inclusive learning environment for all students, including those displaced from Ukraine, helping them integrate into school communities in Moldova. These kits include essential school supplies and sports equipment to support a modern and well-equipped educational process. This initiative improves learning conditions, motivates students, and assists teachers in their daily work. By promoting inclusion, we aim to ensure a long-term positive impact on the quality of education and the wellbeing of all students.”

Angela Cutasevici, Vice Mayor of Chisinau, highlighted the importance of this support for the city’s schools, noting that such initiatives significantly contribute to creating a better-equipped and more inclusive educational environment. She emphasized that the project addresses the current needs of both students and teachers, particularly in the context of the refugee crisis and the ongoing modernization of the educational process.

Andrei Pavaloi, Deputy Head of the General Directorate for Education, Youth and Sports in Chisinau, appreciated the collaboration with partner organizations and expressed hope that similar initiatives will continue, helping schools better respond to the needs of all students, including those from vulnerable backgrounds.

The educational kits are provided under the project “Ensuring the Wellbeing of Children in Educational Institutions in Moldova”, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the Liechtenstein Development Services Foundation (LED), and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), and implemented by Partnerships for Every Child.

In total, 3,000 students from grades I–XII and 260 teachers from the participating schools received educational kits, including backpacks, school supplies, and other materials essential for the learning process.
