185 teachers to develop new skills for adapting and improving teaching competencies

03/03/2025

A total of 185 teachers, psychologists, and school managers from institutions in Chisinau municipality and the districts of Anenii Noi, Orhei, and Soroca are participating from March 3–6 in the training program “Teacher Wellbeing.” The program aims to ensure teachers’ wellbeing and prevent professional burnout, which is essential for creating and maintaining a healthy, creative, and supportive learning environment for students.

Daniela Mămăligă, Director of Partnerships for Every Child, emphasized, “The wellbeing of teachers and students are interconnected and cannot evolve separately. This program provides practical tools for managing stress and interpersonal relationships in schools, contributing to effective and enjoyable learning. Participants will explore advanced techniques for managing stress, workload, and school relationships, learning to adapt to complex relational contexts, especially in crisis situations. Over time, these skills will help transform the learning process into a positive experience for both children and adults.”

Maher Daboul, Manager for Education Programs, noted that teachers play a central role in students’ wellbeing in the school environment, beyond generously imparting knowledge. “Through this training program, we aim to strengthen teachers’ skills in managing stress and maintaining a healthy balance between personal and professional life, preventing burnout, demotivation, and emotional imbalance. We hope that teachers will return to their classrooms feeling well and equipped with the necessary resources for reinforced wellbeing.”

The “Teacher Wellbeing” program is a component of the “Better Learning Program  1 and 2”, launched in Moldova in 2022 with the support of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) as a response to the humanitarian crisis and the large influx of refugee children.

The event is carried out under the project “Ensuring the Wellbeing of Children in Educational Institutions in Moldova,” funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the Liechtenstein Development Service Foundation (LED), and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), and implemented by Partnerships for Every Child (P4EC).
