Guardianship Authorities from 10 Districts Meet in a Workshop for Experience and Good Practice Exchange in Child Protection
23/11/2023
With the support of the European Union, over 50 representatives of the Departments of Social Assistance and Family Protection (DASPF) from 10 districts of the country — Anenii Noi, Basarabeasca, Cahul, Cantemir, Căușeni, Cimișlia, Hâncești, Leova, Ștefan Vodă and Taraclia — participated on 23–24 November in a workshop focused on the exchange of experience and practices in the field of child protection.
Igor Chișcă, Head of the Directorate for Child Rights and Families with Children Policies at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, stated that strengthening collaboration and coordination among child protection professionals from different regions is essential to ensure a coherent approach within the child protection system. This is particularly important in the context of implementing the National Programme for Child Protection 2022–2026 (NPCP) and the social assistance system reform “RESTART”.
Daniela Mămăligă, Director of Partnerships for Every Child (P4EC), mentioned at the opening of the event that this workshop provides an opportunity to share good practices in the field and to discuss key topics on the NPCP implementation agenda, such as child participation and primary family support. At the same time, it offers a space to discuss common challenges and to identify interventions that need to be developed or improved at local level in order to further strengthen the child protection system.
The workshop also includes activities aimed at strengthening DASPF teams to facilitate their integration into the three Regional Social Assistance Agencies that are to be established as part of the “RESTART” social assistance reform.
The event is organised within the project “Building a society where every girl and boy can fully realise their potential with respect and dignity”, funded by the European Union and implemented by P4EC in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education and Research, and local public authorities from the districts of Cantemir, Cimișlia, Ștefan Vodă and Taraclia.
