Professional Training Course in sewing for the team of specialists from the “Childhood for Children” charity fund in Tiraspol
07/07/2018
From May 29 to June 1, the team of specialists from the “Childhood for Children” Charity Fund in Tiraspol participated in an extensive professional training course in sewing. The course comprised 11 specialized modules, which are part of a unique training and professional development program for 15 young women at risk, who will work in a social sewing workshop.
During the training, specialists learned teaching methods and techniques designed to increase the interest and motivation of the project beneficiaries to engage in this field. The training was facilitated by experts from the Center of Excellence in Light Industry in Chisinau.
Following this, the trained specialists will teach the 15 young women between June and August 2018 to sew, knit, repair clothing, and create traditional costumes. This process will help develop professional and social skills, such as creativity, teamwork, and workforce integration.
The training sessions were organized as part of the “Supporting the Socio-Professional Integration of Adolescents at Risk on the Left Bank of the Dniester through the Establishment of a Social Sewing Workshop in Tiraspol” social charity project, developed by Partnerships for Every Child in collaboration with the “Childhood for Children” Charity Fund in Tiraspol. The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It aims to strengthen trust and cooperation between the project beneficiaries and the specialist teams working to support the socio-professional integration of youth on both banks of the Dniester River.
