With the support of the European Union, six NGOs from both banks of the Dniester River have received small grants for activities aimed at supporting the development of early intervention and support models for children with special needs, aged 0–7 years. Each grant, valued at €4,500, is awarded under the project “Increasing Access for Children with Special Needs to Community-Based Support and Early Childhood Education Services,” funded by the European Union and implemented by Partnerships for Every Child (P4EC).

The selected NGOs are:

  • Public Association “Support and Hope,” Ungheni;
  • Public Association “Speranța,” Cahul;
  • Public Association “Support for Children and Youth with Disabilities ‘Dorința’,” Călărași;
  • Parents’ Association for Persons with Disabilities “Eternitate,” Obreja Veche, Fălești;
  • Public Association “Alfa Beta,” Ungheni;
  • Charitable Foundation for Children “Детство детям,” Transnistria.

Over a six-month period, these NGOs will carry out various activities aimed at raising awareness among parents and the community about the importance of early support and intervention for children with special needs, as well as strengthening parents’ capacities to provide care and ensure the social and educational inclusion of their children. Specific planned activities include the development of support programs for children aged 0–3/7 with disabilities, parent empowerment initiatives, awareness-raising events such as social theater performances, flash mobs, and communication platforms.

The project Increasing Access for Children with Special Needs to Community-Based Support and Early Childhood Education Services” is implemented by P4EC in collaboration with Mellow Parenting and HealthProm from the United Kingdom, with the support of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, and local public administrations from the five project districts. The project, with a total value of €680,000, is funded by the European Union.
