Small grants competition launched for children with special needs with support from the European Union

20/11/2017

With the support of the European Union, a small grants competition has been launched in six regions – Cahul, Călărași, Fălești, Nisporeni, Ungheni, and Transnistria – aimed at facilitating access for children with special needs, aged 0–7 years, to community-based support and early childhood education services.

Between November 13–22, information sessions were held in the mentioned regions to present the objectives of the grants program. Participants, including representatives of NGOs and local authorities, received information on the application procedures and deadlines, project eligibility, geographic coverage, eligible costs, and reporting requirements.

The competition is organized by Partnerships for Every Child (P4EC) as part of the project “Improving Access for Children with Special Needs to Community-Based Support and Early Childhood Education Services”, implemented in five districts: Cahul, Călărași, Fălești, Nisporeni, and Ungheni.

The main objective of the competition is to ensure that children with special needs and their families have access to support programs that strengthen the capacities of parents and professionals while providing children with the best opportunities to develop their potential during the early years of life.

The project is implemented by P4EC in partnership with Mellow Parenting and HealthProm from the United Kingdom, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Research, the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Social Protection, and the local authorities in the beneficiary districts. The total project value is EUR 680,000, funded by the European Union.
