Members of the Advisory Board of Children (ABC) of Călărași have recently launched the first issue of the council’s newspaper. The publication, entitled “Children for Children” comprises eight pages and includes a variety of engaging news about the council’s activities, as well as articles reflecting the views of children from different localities of the district on the respect of their rights. In addition, readers can find an interview with a representative of the local public authorities addressing various important topics. This section will be featured in every issue of the newspaper.

The newspaper also includes a special section entitled “The Right to a Family,” which contains several articles on how children perceive the importance of family.

Maria Bob, Child Participation Specialist in Călărași, stated that the newspaper will be published on a monthly basis. The idea and concept of the publication belong to the 27 members of the Călărași ABC.

The “Children for Children” newspaper is distributed both in print and online to local authorities and educational institutions across the district.

The Children’s Consultative Councils were established with the support of the Partnerships for Every Child within the project “A Strong Family for Every Child,” funded by USAID. To date, eight ABCs have been created in eight districts.
