Professional Foster Parents provide safety to refugee children from Ukraine

Alexandru is one of the Ukrainian teenagers who fled to Moldova unaccompanied. Thanks to the partnership between the Border Police, child protection specialists, and the “Blue Dot” Support Centre in Palanca, Ștefan Vodă — working together with UNICEF and local authorities — the young man was identified and placed with a family in Căușeni that provides professional foster care services.

There, he is safe and feels at home. Since the beginning of the conflict, one of UNICEF’s top priorities has been protecting children from abuse and human trafficking.
