Strengthening inclusive education in the municipality of Chișinău
Implementation period: June 2026 – June 2027
The project contributes to the development of a more equitable and inclusive municipal education system, ensuring that every child – including children with special educational needs, children with disabilities, and refugee children – has equal opportunities for learning and participation in the school community.
What we aim to achieve:
- Support the development of the first Municipal Inclusive Education Plan of the Municipality of Chișinău;
- Strengthen the capacities of education professionals to implement inclusive practices in schools and kindergartens;
- Contribute to reducing stereotypes and promoting a culture of inclusion through social and behavioural change activities;
- Enhance collaboration between educational institutions, support services, public authorities, and the community to better respond to the needs of all children.
What we will do:
- Conduct a needs assessment and coordinate the development of the first Municipal Inclusive Education Plan, in partnership with municipal authorities and relevant stakeholders in the education sector;
- Train and mentor 70 municipal facilitators, who will support the development of the capacities of more than 2,500 education professionals from 321 educational institutions in the Municipality of Chișinău;
- Organize study visits, mentoring sessions, and establish a community of practice to facilitate experience sharing among professionals;
- Implement social and behavioural change activities in schools, engaging students, teachers, parents, and local authorities to promote inclusive education and reduce discrimination;
- Organize the Municipal Inclusive Education Forum, bringing together professionals, authorities, and partners to promote good practices and support the development of local policies in this area.
Through this project, we contribute to building an education system where inclusion becomes an everyday practice, and every child has equal opportunities for education, participation, and development, regardless of their individual characteristics or life circumstances.
The project is implemented by CCF Moldova – Child, Community, Family, in cooperation with Partnerships for Every Child and the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sport of the Municipality of Chișinău, with financial support from the Government of the United States, the Government of Germany through KfW Development Bank, the Government of the United Kingdom, and the Government of Austria.
