Free preparatory courses in mathematics and romanian for displaced students from Ukraine
02/04/2026
Approximately 280 displaced students from Ukraine are participating, between March and May, in free preparatory courses in Romanian language and mathematics. The program is designed for students in the 4th and 9th grades, to support their preparation for final primary and lower secondary graduation exams, and also includes knowledge consolidation sessions for students in the 5th and 8th grades.
To facilitate access and participation, the courses are organized in four hub schools located across the districts of Chisinau: “Matei Basarab” Theoretical Lyceum, “Mihail Koțiubinski”, “Petru Movilă” and “I. Neciu-Levițchi”. Classes are held on Saturdays, providing students with an accessible and friendly learning environment.
According to Ms. Ana Palii, Project Coordinator at “Partnerships for every child” /P4EC/, these courses contribute not only to improving academic performance, but also to the social inclusion of children by encouraging communication, relationship-building, and creating a positive atmosphere, complemented by snacks provided to participants.
The courses are organized within the project “Inclusive Education and Psychosocial Support for Displaced and Host Community Children in Moldova”, implemented by P4EC in cooperation with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), with financial support from Norway and in coordination with the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sport of the Chisinau Municipality.
