Mothers from Călărași district – Ambassadors of positive parenting

With the support of UNICEF, the educational programme for parents “Mellow Parenting” is being implemented in several localities across the Republic of Moldova, including Călărași district. The programme includes eight group-based activities where parents learn how to raise their children in a healthy and nurturing way. It primarily targets preschool-aged children.

The “Mellow Parenting” programme consists of 14 group sessions designed to support parents in developing parenting skills at different stages of a child’s development — from the prenatal period through the preschool years. The programme is based on attachment principles, social learning, and cognitive behavioural theory. It focuses on fostering positive parent–child relationships, improving wellbeing, learning from personal experiences, and understanding how these experiences influence behaviours.
