More methodological guides in child protection adopted by international platforms
03/08/2018
Several methodological guides designed for professionals in the child protection system, developed by Partnerships for Every Child (P4EC) with support from USAID, have been adopted by Better Care Network (BCN), making them available to professionals worldwide for learning and reference. These guides include:
- Case Management Guide
- Social Support Services for Families with Children
- Family-Based Care for Children with Disabilities: Practical Guide for Practitioners in Low- and Middle-Income Countries
The Case Management and Family Support guides are part of a methodological package aimed at supporting staff working in social services. The practical guide for family-based care for children with disabilities helps practitioners (social workers and others) in less wealthy countries work effectively with children with disabilities and their families. It is especially useful for those with limited experience in this area and complements other guides on case management.
Better Care Network (BCN) is an international network of organizations supporting children without parental care worldwide. BCN promotes collaboration, information sharing, research on family strengthening and alternative care, and advocates for policy improvements at national, regional, and local levels. Its online platform provides a library of resources in family strengthening and alternative care.
The development of these guides was made possible thanks to the generous support of the American people through USAID.
