Professional Foster Carers and children in placement from Orhei district benefit from support sessions

With the support of UNICEF, professional foster carers and children in placement from Orhei district will participate in support activities that will provide them with a space for learning, reflection, experience sharing, and personal development. These sessions will help professional foster carers better respond to the needs of children in placement, while providing children with opportunities to develop self-confidence, positive relationships, and a stronger sense of safety.

The activities will offer professional foster carers a safe space to discuss the challenges they encounter in their daily work, exchange experiences, strengthen their capacity to manage crisis situations, prevent professional burnout, and promote healthy communication and intervention approaches in their relationships with children in placement. At the same time, children in placement will participate in interactive and recreational activities focused on strengthening their sense of safety, identifying trusted people and places where they can seek support, and recognizing their progress and personal resources. These activities will contribute to building positive relationships, increasing self-confidence, and strengthening their sense of belonging.

The model of these support sessions is based on the positive experience gained in Chisinau Municipality, where similar support groups contributed to strengthening support for professional foster carers and children in placement.

The sessions will be organized monthly until the end of the current year, within the UNICEF project “Better Care for Children”, implemented by AO “Partnerships for Every Child”, with financial support from the Government of Sweden, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection.
