Right Actions – TOGETHER – for Every Child

17/02/2016

Preparations for piloting the national practice model “Right Actions – TOGETHER – for Every Child” in three districts of the Republic of Moldova have entered their final stage. On 17–18 February, the group of trainers who will deliver training activities to approximately 10,000 professionals working in the fields of education, health, public order, social assistance, the church, and emergency services from around 100 communities are participating in the final seminar at this stage, organized by the Partnerships for Every Child (P4EC).

The training sessions will be launched in March and aim to raise awareness among practitioners who interact with children and families, encouraging timely intervention and the provision of appropriate support, without waiting for problems to escalate and situations to become critical. Subsequently, P4EC, in cooperation with the line ministries, will develop unified assessment and intervention tools to be distributed to practitioners across all sectors. The piloting of the national practice model was initiated through an order of the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family, issued in November 2015.

The practice model adapted for the Republic of Moldova was developed based on two international approaches/models of practice. The model adopted from Scotland, “Getting It Right for Every Child” (Right Actions – TOGETHER – for Every Child), was piloted over a period of 10 years in several regions of the country and has been implemented nationwide since 2014. The “Strengthening Families” approach, which provides a framework of family protective factors, was adopted from the United States, where it has been implemented in 20 states for over 20 years, and has recently been expanded to several European countries.

The event was organized within the framework of the project “A Strong Family for Every Child”, implemented by P4EC in partnership with the Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family, the Ministry of Education, and 11 districts of the Republic of Moldova, with financial support from USAID.
