20/11/2025
With support from UNICEF, 80 specialists responsible for delivering social services to families with children in Chisinau participated in a two-day training workshop.
The workshop aims to strengthen the capacity of professionals to provide effective, family-centered interventions by improving knowledge on organizing and implementing social support services for families with children, and by developing the practical skills necessary to prevent child-family separation and ensure the well-being of children.
According to Irina Spivacenco, Program Coordinator of “Partnerships for Every Child”, ”during the training, participants will learn and reflect on topics essential to their daily work: understanding trauma and its effects on children, areas of well-being, protective factors, organization of social support services, as well as practical techniques for working with children who have experienced traumatic events. strengthening this knowledge is crucial to providing empathetic, effective, and safe interventions for every child and family.”
The social support service for families with children has been a core service provided nationally for over 10 years. It intervenes in situations of vulnerability, strengthens parental skills, and supports families in overcoming challenges. Through a child-centered and family-empowering approach, specialists help create a safe environment conducive to the healthy growth and development of children.
The training workshop is organized under the UNICEF Project “Better Care for Children,” implemented by Partnerships for Every Child, with financial support from the Government of Sweden, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova.
