15/05/2018
On May 14, the team from the “Childhood for Children” Charity Fund in Tiraspol conducted a study visit to the “Together” Social Services Complex for Children and Youth in Cahul, established by Partnerships for Every Child (P4EC). During the visit, both parties exchanged experiences and knowledge regarding the reform of the residential child care system, social services for children at risk or orphaned, the development of vocational guidance programs, and the fostering of independent living skills.
The visit included familiarization with the services offered at the complex, such as:
- Placement centers for children at risk and for youth (social apartments),
- Vocational workshops (sewing, culinary arts, woodworking, and IT).
The colleagues from Tiraspol were impressed by the programs developed at the complex, which focus on developing independent living skills and vocational orientation for youth, the equipment in the workshops, the living and development conditions provided to beneficiaries, as well as joint projects implemented with community representatives.
The study visit was organized as part of the social charity project “Supporting the Socio-Professional Integration of Adolescents at Risk on the Left Bank of the Dniester through the Establishment of a Social Sewing Workshop in Tiraspol”, implemented by P4EC in collaboration with the “Childhood for Children” Charity Fund in Tiraspol. The project is carried out under the “Support for Confidence-Building Measures” Program, funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
