80 Teachers and School Managers Participate in “Better Learning Program 2” Training
26/12/2024
80 teachers and school managers from seven educational institutions in Chisinau and the districts of Anenii Noi, Orhei, and Soroca took part in training under the “Better Learning Program 2” (BLP 2). These educators had previously participated in BLP 1 during the fall of 2024, where they learned strategies to help students manage crisis situations and stress, improving their overall academic performance.
BLP 2 builds on the successes of BLP 1, deepening teachers’ skills and providing additional tools to support students’ educational and emotional development. The program focuses on fostering resilience and the ability to cope with emotional and educational challenges, ensuring better school performance and overall well-being. It actively involves both teachers and parents in this process.
Ana Palii, Project Coordinator at Partnerships for Every Child, highlighted: “Implementing BLP 2 significantly contributes to creating a safer school environment, supporting teachers and parents in managing students’ emotional and educational challenges.”
Cristina Savin, Education and Youth Program Coordinator at the Norwegian Refugee Council, added: “BLP 2 continues and deepens the practical approaches of BLP 1, which has been successfully implemented for over two years in Moldova by NRC in partnership with PPFC. It provides teachers with practical solutions to help students overcome emotional and educational challenges, transforming schools into safer, more inclusive spaces where every child can reach their full potential. Collaborative engagement among teachers, parents, and partners is essential to generate sustainable change in Moldova’s educational system. This training demonstrates a clear commitment to education quality and student well-being, particularly in vulnerable contexts.”
Since its launch in June 2022, BLP 1 has benefited over 7,000 children from 25 schools in Chisinau, Cahul, and Balti. During this period, 20 national trainers, 365 teachers from the 25 schools, and 93 teachers from district and municipal psycho-pedagogical services were trained. Additionally, 16 national trainers were trained under the “Teachers in Crisis Contexts” program, benefiting 280 teachers. Currently, 3,200 students are participating in BLP 2.
The training event is organized by Partnerships for Every Child under the project “Ensuring the Well-Being of Children in Educational Institutions in Moldova,” funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the Liechtenstein Development Service Foundation (LED), and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).
