“Partnerships for Every Child” (P4EC) and the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) signed today a license transfer agreement granting P4EC the exclusive right to implement the “WELL” Programme in the Republic of Moldova.
Present at the signing event, Mr. Neil Brighton, NRC Country Director in Moldova, stated: “The signing of this programme handover agreement marks an important step in promoting the well-being of children in the Republic of Moldova. The ”Better Learning Programme /BLP/”—now known as the ‘WELL Programme’—has proven to be a valuable tool in supporting socio-emotional development and fostering a safe and inclusive educational environment. This moment also reflects the commitment and leadership of our partner, ‘Partnerships for Every Child,’ which has consistently worked to adapt the programme’s resources to ensure their relevance and effectiveness in improving children’s well-being in Moldova. At NRC, we are proud to support a transition that strengthens local ownership and creates the foundation for long-term sustainability, enabling more children, teachers, and schools across the country to benefit from a safe, inclusive, and well-being-oriented educational environment.”
Daniela Mămăligă, Executive Director of PPFC, emphasized: “Granting us the right to take over and implement the programme in the Republic of Moldova will allow us to expand its scope and ensure access for a greater number of children and educational institutions, including those in social services. Over the four years of implementation, the programme has achieved significant results: 40 beneficiary schools, approximately 15,000 children, and around 1,000 teaching and managerial staff, as well as NGO specialists and librarians working with children, across 8 regions of the country, have benefited from the programme. Results analysis shows that the programme has significantly improved children’s emotional well-being and school experience, with students’ well-being increasing by up to 25% after participation,” said Ms. Mămăligă.
The “WELL” Programme (formerly the “Better Learning Programme” /BLP/) has been implemented by P4EC since 2022 and provides children, teachers, and parents with support in managing stress generated by various situations, including crisis or instability contexts. The programme consists of three modules—“WELL for Youth,” “WELL 2,” and “WELL 1”—and supports students at different stages of schooling in developing emotional and educational skills, from stress management and exam preparation to strengthening resilience, improving academic performance, and enhancing concentration, thereby contributing to children’s overall well-being.
Expanded into the social sector, the programme also provides professionals with practical tools to better understand and manage children’s emotional responses, including calming and breathing exercises. This extension enables a larger number of children—including refugees and those from host communities—to better cope with stress and everyday challenges.
