“I can’t wait for the next session!” – The PEACE Programme helps parents build stronger relationships with their children

“I can’t wait for the next session. I believe this programme can bring positive changes to the relationship with our children.”

“I like that we can openly discuss the challenges I face as a parent and that I leave with practical ideas I can apply at home.”

“It’s a useful and engaging experience. I now better understand how important communication with my child really is.”

These are just a few of the reflections shared by parents who took part in the first session of the PEACE Parenting Education Programme (PEACE – Empathetic, Accountable, Aware and Balanced Parents), an initiative designed to strengthen parenting skills and foster positive relationships between parents and their children.

During the session, parents had the opportunity to get to know one another, share experiences from family life, and discuss the challenges they face in their parenting journey. Through interactive exercises and practical activities, participants reflected on the importance of effective communication, mutual understanding, and creating a family environment built on respect, trust, and support.

Since the beginning of the year, three parent groups have successfully completed the programme, bringing together around 35 parents and 45 children from Chișinău Municipality. A new group, consisting of 10 parents and 20 children, is currently participating in the programme, and additional parents and children will benefit from the initiative in the coming months.

The sessions are organized as part of the UNICEF project “Better Care for Children”, implemented by Partnerships for Every Child, with financial support from the Government of Sweden, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova.
