The “Mellow Parenting for Babies” program reaches the homes of six families in Ungheni district

23/02/2021

Six mothers with babies up to 18 months old from Ungheni district will be able to participate, for the first time, online, in the parental education program “Mellow Parenting for Babies.” For this purpose, the Partnerships for Every Child (P4EC) purchased and provided tablets with internet connection to the six families for the duration of the program.

According to Irina Spivacenco, P4EC Project Manager, the program has been adapted to an online format and will be piloted in Ungheni district with the support of the DASPF Ungheni, with the possibility of expanding it to other districts. “We will continue to provide families with babies the necessary support by ensuring access to services related to the development of parenting skills, even during the pandemic,” said Ms. Spivacenco.

The piloting of the online “Mellow Parenting for Babies” program is possible thanks to the financial support provided by the World Childhood Foundation and funds collected from individuals in 2020 through the redirection of 2% of income tax.

The parental education program “Mellow Parenting” is implemented in the Republic of Moldova within the project “Mellow Parenting – for Healthy and Happy Children,” carried out by P4EC in collaboration with профиль departments in the beneficiary districts. The “Mellow Parenting” program aims to support parents in developing parenting skills at different stages of a child’s development, starting from the prenatal period through preschool age, and is based on the principles of attachment, social learning, and cognitive behavioral theory.
